TORONTO — Privately held broadcast radio station owner Evanov Communications Inc. has lured a high-profile programming executive with previous experience at Corus Entertainment, Rogers Sports & Media and at the former Alpha Media in the U.S. to lead its two stations serving the GTA.
Ronnie Stanton is join the company as Senior Brand Manager for CIDC-FM “Z103.5,” in Orangeville, Ont., a dance music-intensive Rhythmic Top 40 station serving Toronto that in recent years has become the default LGBTQ+ outlet, following the demise of CIRR-FM “Proud 103.9.” He will also lead CKPC-FM “Lite 92.1,” licensed to Brantford, Ontario, and serving Kitchener, Guelph and Hamilton.
Stanton returns to Cananda after serving most recently as Chief Content Officer for Virgin Radio International, working with the brand’s operations in Canada (including stations in London, Toronto and Windsor, Ontario, and in Montréal), the UK, Switzerland, Italy, Turkey, Oman, Romania, Lebanon, and the United Arab Emirates. His most recent experience in Canada was leading Classic Hits programming nationally at Rogers Sports & Media, serving as Content Director for CJAX-FM “96.9 JACK FM” and now-defunct Alternative CKKS-FM “SONiC” in Vancouver, B.C.
Before that, he was Vice President of Audio at Corus Entertainment, where he oversaw 39 Canadian broadcast radio stations and the Curiouscast Podcast Network. Earlier in his career, Stanton held such roles as VP of Programming for Alpha Media and as VP/National Brands & Programming at Corus.
Stanton started his career in Canada with the former Astral Media, serving as a Vancouver-based Operations Manager and Brand Director.
