The Sinclair Inc.-owned broadcast TV station serving Flint, Mich., as “FOX 66” is heading to the University of Michigan on Thursday evening to participate in the Athletes First Tailgate Tour stop, along with the parent company’s AMP Media team.

WSMH-TV will play a key role in the tour stop in Ann Arbor, Mich., ahead of the University of Michigan’s home football game versus the University of Washington scheduled for October 18.

As the exclusive media partner of the tour, AMP Media will deliver live programming, fan engagement, and multiplatform content from the event, which will be held at the Fiji House at 1001 Oakland Avenue in Ann Arbor, Mich. It features special guest Chris Wormley, a defensive end for the Pittsburgh Steelers who in 2012 was a standout player for the University of Michigan Wolverines.

As part of the stop, podcast host and fellow Michigan football star Jake Butt will go live at 6:30pm Eastern with “The Blue Print: A Podcast on The Michigan Wolverines,” sponsored by Google.

Now in its third season, the Athletes First Tailgate Tour has emerged as a leading traveling college football festival, featuring NFL and college football legends, premium hospitality, and interactive brand activations at 11 major games across the country. The Athletes First Tailgate Tour features a 55-foot custom hauler, which includes a hospitality lounge, podcast studio, and live event stage, serving as the hub for fan activity at each stop.
