She’s a former VP/Market Manager for Cumulus Media’s radio stations serving Ventura County, Calif., rising from Regional VP at the end of 2020. Now, after 13 years, this California local radio veteran is taking on leadership of a group of stations owned by Connoisseur Media.

Taking at the company led by Jeff Warshaw is Sommer Frisk. She’ll hold dual roles as Market Manager for the Palm Springs, Calif., radio stations Connoisseur obtained in its merger with Alpha Media, and serve as Connoisseur’s Regional Manager for its 7 radio brands in Alaska and two Spanish-language FMs in the Salt Lake City market: KDUT-FM and KBMG-FM.

In this role, Sommer will oversee team leadership, community engagement, and revenue performance across these key markets, Connoisseur said in a Monday announcement.

“Sommer’s leadership, passion for local media, and her ability to connect with communities make her an ideal addition to the Connoisseur family,” said Tina Murley, Senior Vice President of Connoisseur’s Western Region and Market Manager for San Francisco and San Jose. “As we deepen presence in Palm Springs, Alaska, and Salt Lake City, Sommer’s strategic vision, commitment to local communities, and operational expertise will be invaluable.”

Frisk added, “I get to live in a beautiful area, lead amazing teams, work alongside Tina Murley’s fearless leadership, and execute Jeff Warshaw’s bold, forward-thinking vision for media. When the stars align like this, you don’t hesitate—you get to work.”
