Some 17 Vacant FM Allotments Appear On Latest Table

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The FM Table of Allotments has been updated by the FCC, with Audio Division Assistant Chief Nazifa Sawez adding no less than 17 vacancies to the official list.


A staff engineering analysis confirmed that all of the vacant FM allotments listed meet the minimum distance separation requirements of section 73.207 and the city-grade coverage requirements of section 73.315.

They appear because a construction permit and/or license was granted. These FM allotments, however, are now considered vacant because of the cancellation of the associated authorizations or the dismissal of longform auction applications.

As seen below, the stations are, for the most part, in rural areas or small towns such as Clovis, N. Mex.
