Smullin Sells Its Stake In KPIC To Sinclair

Four years ago, a family-owned independent broadcaster led by President/CEO Patsy Smullin gained attention for its decision to sell FOX affiliate KLSR-34, MyNetwork TV-aligned KEVU-CD 23 and a host of translator stations in the Eugene-Springfield, Ore., DMA, to Cox Media Group.


Now, the Smullin family’s South West Oregon TV Broadcasting Corp. has struck a deal that will see Sinclair Inc. fully acquire a full-power property and four associated TV translators serving Douglas County, Ore., for nearly 70 years.
