With all the talk about large and medium market revenue losses it is interesting that we local small market broadcasters are doing relatively well:
Neuhoff’s radio markets:
Springfield, IL +2% YTD
Danville, IL +1% YTD
Decatur, IL new acquisition but holding steady with last year.
All of these markets are coming off of record 2007 & 2008 total year numbers.
Neuhoff TV: Twin Falls, ID -12% YTD but showing huge improvement in pacing.
Good news? I think the industry is undergoing a change we operators in smaller markets have always known: Transactional selling is dying. Interactive, idea and success based value marketing is growing. Is the train leaving the station? Be on it.
