With support for the AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act continuing to build in the House of Representatives, with Reps. Sylvia Garcia (D-Tex.), Kweisi Mfume (D-Md.), Laura Friedman (D-Calif.), April McClain Delaney (D-Md.), Ritchie Torres (D-N.Y.), Gabe Evans (R-Colo.), and Elijah Crane (R-Ariz.) all becoming co-sponsors of the legislation between August 8-12, the buying and selling of kHz-band stations continues.

On August 14, several deals were filed with the FCC, seeking its regulatory approval for changes of control. AM radio stations were in the mix.

In the first of the six transactions awaiting Commission OK, WFSP-AM & FM in Kingwood, W. Va., is being sold by WFSF Radio LLC to WFSF Broadcasting LLC.

A $250,000 purchase price has been agreed upon by the parties. The buyer is led by Greg Bolyard, while Linda Westbrook, administratrix of The Estate of David Lee Wills, is representing the seller.

WFSP-FM is a Class A facility serving an area east of Morgantown, W. Va., on the border of Garrett County, Md. WFSP-AM is a Class D at 1560 kHz, with a daytime-only operation and 250 watts of critical hours power.

The second transaction is in Spruce Pine, N.C., where Mountain Valley Media has agreed to sell shares in WTOE-AM 1470 and W266DO to two new individuals by its sole owner, Michael Sink. Should the FCC say yes, Sink will become 1/3 owner of the stations, with Marsa Jarrett and Holly Hall each taking one-third stake in MVM. WTOE serves an area of the Blue Ridge east of Pisgah National Forest.

A related transaction sees a similar 1/3 split in the ownership of WKYK-AM and W284DK in Burnsville, N.C., filed separately as these stations are licensed to Mark Media Inc.

Lastly, in moves that require Commission approval, Capital City Radio Corporation is making a change in executors for the Estate of Robert L. Wilkins Jr. This will put Michael David Bland in control of KIOU-AM & K235CQ in Shreveport, La., and KWDF-AM & K259CX in Ball, La., to replace Julie Ziegler. Similarly, Cajun Radio Corp. is making the change for its WCPC-AM in Houston, Miss., and W289CJ in Tupelo, Ms., a Wilkins Radio subsidiary. Additionally, Wilkins Radio’s Alabama Radio Corporation is requesting the change in executors. It is the licensee of WASG-AM in Daphne, Ala., and Mobile FM translators W250CB and W291CY.
