A series of interactive, virtual workshops for college students interested in pursuing careers in journalism offered by Sinclair Broadcast Group is back.

And, this year will see the addition of a workshop for students interested in a career in weather.

The return of Sinclair’s News Reporter and Producer Academies is confirmed, and these 90-minute sessions are scheduled to run throughout November.

Importantly, the sessions are open exclusively to enrolled students.

SESSION DATES:

Reporter Academy – November 1

Producer Academy – November 8

Weather Academy – November 15

Each session will take place virtually, from Noon – 1:30pm Eastern.

Sinclair’s Reporter Academy, now in its third year, is hosted by Sinclair’s news operation, giving students an opportunity to learn about Sinclair’s “modern content centers” and interact with the company’s teams. “Students will learn the basics of reporting and investigative storytelling across multiple platforms, and how to package a resume and reel,” the company said.

Sinclair’s Producer Academy, now in its sixth year, is a workshop for students interested in pursuing a career as a digital or broadcast news producer.

The Weather Academy will feature participation from meteorologists detailing multiplatform weather coverage.

These three free virtual workshops are open to undergraduate and graduate college students. Students must register in advance, by November 1 at: https://www.flowcode.com/page/sinclair-news-academies
