He was formerly President/GM of TEGNA‘s properties in Arizona, overseeing KPNX-12 in Phoenix and Tucson siblings KMSB “FOX 11” and MyNetwork TV affiliate KTTU-TV. Now, he’s reemerged as the VP/GM for Sinclair Inc.’s duopoly in Portland, Ore.
Taking the role at ABC affiliate KATU-2 and “Univision Portland” home KUNP-TV is Dean Ditmer.
Ditmer’s previously roles include serving as Director of Sales at KUSA-9 in Denver, as General Manager of Sinclair’s WKEF-23 and WRGT-45 in Dayton, and as Local Sales Manager at KPIX-5 in San Francisco.
Dittmer reports to Rob Weisbord, Sinclair’s Chief Operating Officer and President of Local Media. Weisbord said, “We are thrilled to welcome Dean back to Sinclair. Dean’s extensive experience and proven leadership make him the perfect fit to lead KATU and KUNP. We are confident that under his guidance, these stations will continue to thrive and serve the Portland community with excellence.”
