Since April 2020, he’s been the VP/GM of WLEX-19, the NBC affiliate in Lexington, Ky. Cordillera-affiliated Evening Post Publishing (its parent company) acquired WLEX in 1999 and sold to The E.W. Scripps Co. in May 2019.

Now, Andrew Shenkan is leaving the Bluegrass State for the top role at a Manship family television station in Bayou Country.

As of today, Shenkan is now GM of ABC affiliate WBRZ-2 in Baton Rouge.

“We are thrilled to welcome Andrew Shenkan back to the WBRZ family,” said Jake Manship, CEO of Manship Media. “Andrew’s extensive experience and proven leadership in the broadcasting industry make him the perfect fit to lead our team and continue our commitment to delivering high-quality news and entertainment to our community.”

It’s a return to Louisiana for Shenkan, who served as Vice President/General Manager at KATC-TV in Lafayette, La., also a former Cordillera station purchased by Scripps. And, he’s worked at WBRZ earlier in his career.

Remarking on his new role, Shenkan said, “I am honored to return to WBRZ and lead this incredible team. The station has a rich history and a bright future, and I look forward to working with everyone to build on our successes and take WBRZ to new heights. Baton Rouge has always held a special place in my heart, and I am excited to reconnect with the community and contribute to its growth.”

Richard Manship, Chairman of the Board of Manship Media, added, “Andrew has a remarkable track record of success and a deep understanding of our industry. His return to WBRZ is a homecoming that we are all excited about. We are confident that under his leadership, WBRZ will continue to thrive and innovate.”
