With a partial government shutdown still in progress, the wheels of the U.S. Congress nevertheless still turn round and round. On Wednesday, South Dakota Republican Senator John Thune officially passed the gavel to his successor as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science & Transportation — the committee in the upper body of Congress that oversees the FCC.

Sen. Roger Wicker, a Republican Senator from Mississippi, is now in charge of the powerful Senate body.

On Wednesday (1/16), Wicker will lead an executive session of the committee to consider and approve its rules for the 116th Congress.

The Full Committee Markup will begin at 10am in the Dirksen Senate Office Building, Room 106, on Capitol Hill.

A live video of the markup and additional information will be available at www.commerce.senate.gov
