The all-new Scripps Sports studio for use with all pre-game, post-game and in-between game shows for the WNBA on ION and the NWSL on ION is ready for its August 16 debut.

The E.W. Scripps Co. operation built the facility expressly for its new broadcast sports coverage, and is located in Atlanta. It boasts 4K monitors, a Telestrator for live analysis, and four unique positions — including a main sports desk — to provide different looks for production.

The studio also features a wall of four vertical monitors to highlight teams, players or matchups.

The studio is the first for a broadcast network for the airing of a weekly WNBA studio show. On Fridays, it will see Larry Smith joined by analysts Meghan McKeown and Autumn
Johnson for “State Farm WNBA Friday Night Spotlight on ION.” Nicole Denne is serving as  Executive Producer.

The “NWSL on ION” broadcasts are hosted by Julie Stewart-Binks, and feature as analysts Darian Jenkins and Jessica McDonald; Denne is also the EP for this program.

Scripps Sports previously shared a studio with Scripps News.

“Scripps Sports is proud to offer national studio shows on ION for both the WNBA and NWSL which reflect a significant investment and enhance our already extraordinary storytelling capabilities.” said Scripps Sports President Brian Lawlor, formerly the head of the company’s broadcast TV stations. Scripps Sports VP/Broadcast Operations Quinn Pacini added, “We are the first broadcast network to commit to weekly studio shows for the WNBA and the NWSL. We are now excited to introduce a studio for the primary purpose of delivering to fans best-in-class studio shows, feature segments and graphics packages.”
