WASHINGTON, D.C. — He has been part of the Scripps D.C. sales team for the last six years, serving as a senior manager of business operations, Director of National Sales Operations and Senior Director of National Sales Operations.

Now he’s being officially being promoted to VP of Political and “Pay for Performance” at The E.W. Scripps Co.

Earning the rise in responsibilities is Ahmad Jackson.

But, it’s not a surprise to many as Jackson has been serving in this role on an interim basis since February.

In this role, Jackson will drive revenue growth across all Scripps platforms through the sale of political advertising time, overseeing all strategy, sales and operational execution efforts and leading Scripps’ political and pay for performance sales teams based in the Nation’s Capital.

“Ahmad has a deep understanding of Scripps’ sales operations and all aspects of our business and has delivered results across the various functions in our D.C. office, including political, pay for performance, political CTV and sales operations,” said Scripps Chief Revenue Officer Brian Norris, who Jackson reports to. “Ahmad is a strategic thinker who is also able to execute against the strategy, and he is well-respected both within Scripps and throughout D.C.”

Jackson’s resume includes a seven-year run as a Washington-based financial analyst focused on political and advocacy media for Scripps. He began his career as a national sales coordinator for WMAR-2, Scripps’ ABC affiliate in Baltimore.

Jackson has also served as a senior finance analyst for Sirius XM Radio, and a sales associate for WUSA9 in Washington, D.C., today the flagship television station owned by TEGNA.
