WASHINGTON, D.C. — As President Trump readies to once again make himself at home in the White House, Scripps News is welcoming a national security correspondent — a new role that will see this journalist focus on developments within federal intelligence agencies, the DoD and Department of Homeland Security, among other areas critical to the safety of the U.S.
Liz Landers is taking the position at the streaming-focused, digitally delivered news outlet, which shifted from digital multicast distribution in 2024, resulting in a reduction-in-force initiative at The E.W. Scripps Company.
That shift did not suggest the end of Scripps News, and the arrival of Landers furthers Nasdaq-traded Scripps’ desire to make Scripps News the “FAST” choice for Americans, with app and online access the focus.
Landers in the last several months has led Scripps News’ reporting on the fight over TikTok and the “impact of disinformation.” Her special, “Sex, Lies and Deepfakes,” featured women who were targeted by disinformation that forever changed their lives.
Before joining Scripps in 2024, Landers served as an on-air reporter for ABC News and was the chief political correspondent at Vice News. Landers also covered politics, the 2016 campaign trail, the White House and Capitol Hill for CNN.
