Lawrence Rogow is widely known in broadcast circles for his role as Chairman of Venture Technologies Group, the spectrum investor that also sees Paul Koplin in a lead leadership role. VTG is also the company that has used VHF Channel 6 as an audio service, given its analog signal that can be aired on 87.7 MHz.
Among the properties it has owned is a low-power TV station serving the Windy City. Soon, it will be owned by a broadcast ministry.
Rogow’s group, which is the parent of licensee Local Media TV Chicago LLC, is agreeing to part ways with WILC-CD in Sugar Grove, Ill., in a deal that sees Greg Guy of Patrick Communications represent the company.
The buyer is Texas-headquartered Word of God Fellowship, which is paying $4,975,000 for the digital Class A facility using Channel 8. This will end the paid programming presently airing on WILC, with religious fare on the way courtesy of the fellowship’s Daystar broadcast empire.
A $248,750 deposit is being held by Patrick Communications.
