A cloud-based radio operating system is now in place for a Hubbard Radio property serving the Cincinnati market. For the station’s tech team, it brings greater flexibility in ensuring there’s no loss of signal to listeners or the FM’s advertisers.

As of today, the Radio.Cloud OS is now in use at WYGY-FM “97.3 The Wolf” in Cincinnati.

As corporate EVP of Programming Greg Strassel says, “Hubbard Radio is committed to exploring this technology to enhance our operations and unlock hidden efficiencies and cost savings only possible with a cloud-based system.”

Christian Brenner serves as CEO of Radio.Cloud, of which he is the founder. “Collaborating with some of the top programmers and engineers in the industry to leverage our platform shows our constant evolution and proves Hubbard’s commitment to innovating day-to-day operations through cloud-based technology,” he said.

Radio.Cloud offers a browser-based studio environment and suite of tools that enables real-time playout, efficient remote production and hyper-localized content delivery.

As Hubbard’s VP of Engineering Dave Garner sees it, “Embarking on cloud technology will enable us to change the face of traditional broadcasting/workflow systems in the studio plant and ultimately allow us to leverage our local talent and programming content efforts as needed throughout our markets in a reliable, scalable and cost-effective manner. This initial implementation is part of a larger, phased approach across Hubbard Cincinnati properties, as the company continues to evaluate how technology can support its commitment to quality, consistency, and localism.”
