He’s enjoyed a long career in the media business and has held such roles as Assistant General Counsel for one-time WNEW-FM and WNEW-TV owner Metromedia; President of Network Distribution for Fox Broadcasting Company; President of the ABC Television Network; and as Executive Director of a coalition of television stations participating in the FCC’s spectrum auction.

Today, he’s a Colorado-based consultant and frequent Twitter user. Now, Preston Padden can add a role at the LPTV Broadcasters Association to his CV.

Padden is the new Chief Strategist of the association founded by President Frank Copsidas. He has also taken a seat on the LPTVBA’s Board of Directors.

“We are not only excited, but truly honored to have Preston join the LPTV Broadcasters Association,” Copsidas said. “Padden’s experience, combined with his foresight, will enlighten not only the industry and our government leaders and policy makers, but investors as well, to understand the value of LPTV. This is a time of industry transition, and we look forward to our exciting future in the Local Power TV Industry.”

Padden added, “I am excited to join LPTV BA because of the huge untapped potential of LPTV stations and their valuable spectrum. I look forward to working with Frank and the Board to explore creative options for the future.”

The LPTV Broadcasters Association was established in 2021 as the primary non-profit industry organization representing Low Power, Translator and Class A TV stations Inside the Beltway. With an estimated 5,500+ stations in cities and rural communities around the country, the LPTVBA represents some 75% of overall TV stations in the U.S.
