An AM, FM and FM translator serving the city of Monmouth, Ill., and its surrounding communities will soon become assets of Prairieland Communications LLC, based on a purchase agreement submitted for FCC regulatory approval.
WRAM-AM 1330, FM translator W239DB at 95.7 MHz, and WMOI-FM 97.7 are being sold to Prairieland by Robbins-Treat Resources.
The transaction includes the sale of real estate associated with the stations, with a $205,000 purchase price assigned to the stations and an additional $45,000 linked to real property.
Prairieland is led by Jared and Rachel Kunkle, and they are using the legal services of local attorney Marcum Spears. The seller, led by Vanessa Wetterling, has hired Brad Deutsch of Foster Garvey as its legal representative in front of the FCC.
The sale of the Monmouth stations comes nearly one year after Wetterling and Byron Robbins assumed full control, as Jason Robbins sold his one-third interest in Robbins-Treat Resources. The trio paid $168,000 for the two full-power facilities and one FM translator station from WPW Broadcasting in a deal announced in October 2018.
