Metro Video Productions has brought to life a second low-power television station serving the Fort Wayne, Ind. market, and thanks to digital multicast capabilities is providing eight different programming options to local viewers.
Introducing WNHO-LD 35, which is offering across its digital multicast channels a variety of classic movies, Sci-Fi programming, news and home shopping opportunities.
WNHO is a sibling to WLMO-LD 2 in Fort Wayne, and Metro Video owner Dr. Gregory Phipps couldn’t be happier to have two LPTV properties serving the market that is ranked No. 110 by Nielsen. Fort Wayne is also Indiana’s second-largest market.
Engineering was provided by Roy Stype of Warmus Associates and Greg Case with Broadcast Technical Engineering.
Station facilities include a new GatesAir Maxiva XTE transmitter and Dielectric antenna.
On the DT1 signal for WNHO is “American Crimes,” a true-crime focused diginet.
The remainder of the digital multicast offerings include:
35.2 COMET-TV
35.3 OAN+ — One America News Plus
35.4 NewsMax2
35.5 QVC 1 Home Shopping
35.6 JTV Jewelry and Accessories Shopping
35.7 SHOP LC Home & Fashion Shopping
35.8 WISH-TV NEWS
Indeed, WNHO-35.8 has reached an agreement with DuJuan McCoy’s Circle City Broadcasting to provide statewide news from the WISH-8 newsroom in Indianapolis to Fort Wayne audiences.
For Phipps, “I believe that there is a strong, viable opportunity for the future of low-power TV to contribute to the needs of our communities and that technological innovations with ATSC 3.0 and 5G will provide a bright future for Low-Power television programming, emergency alerts and data services.”
