North of St. Louis, ‘Real Country’ Finds A New Owner

A Class D AM with an FM translator serving a small Illinois city near St. Louis is being transferred to a new owner, pending FCC approval.


Upon closing, it will be their decision to keep the facilities’ current Country programming.

WJBM-AM 1480 and FM translator W284DN at 104.7 MHz in Jerseyville, Ill., are being spun by GBI Communications.

The buyer is First Cut Media, led by Christopher Lorton.

A $100,000 purchase price has been agreed to; a 10% deposit has been made by Lorton.

The seller, led by Doug Smith, used the legal services of Anthony T. Lepore, Esq., in this transaction.

WJBM serves Jerseyville with a “Real Country” presentation.
