NFL Hall of Famer, ‘Batchelor’ Team To Plug Tablo

A national campaign designed to educate consumers about free-to-air broadcast television — and the benefits of a tech tool that delivers entire-home viewing, recordability and “FAST” channels — has just been launched by The E.W. Scripps Co.

To help promote the gadget, Scripps turned to two former University of Florida Gators football players — one is a Hall of Fame Cowboy, while another is widely known for his hosting duties on “The Batchelor.”

Starring in commercials for the Tablo device are Emmitt Smith, known for his many years in the National Football League (primarily with the Dallas Cowboys, before ending his career with one season on the Arizona Cardinals), and Jesse Palmer, who shifted from pro football to roles as a college football analyst and on ABC’s “Batchelor”-themed reality series — making him instantly familiar with women.

The marketing campaign — “It’s not fantasy, it’s reality” — features Palmer and Smith as they tap into the popularity of live reality TV and moments in sports. The fourth-generation Tablo device, released in August 2023, is being marketed as the first consumer technology device to enable whole-home viewing, recording of over-the-air broadcast television and curated free ad-supported streaming television channels without a subscription.

Tablo is available as a direct-from-the-vendor online purchase and at Best Buy, Amazon.com and at HSN.com.

The “Tablo Total System,” which includes a 35-mile indoor TV antenna, is exclusively on sale at TabloTV.com.
