Nexstar Exec Biard Joins NAB Board

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The President and COO of the nation’s No. 1 licensee of broadcast TV stations has been appointed to the NAB Television Board of Directors.


He takes a post previously held by Nexstar Media Group‘s broadcasting division President.

Succeeding Andy Alford on the NAB TV Board is Michael Biard.

Television Board Chair Pat LaPlatney, who serves as Co-CEO of Gray Television. made the appointment in accordance with NAB by-laws.

Biard oversees Nexstar’s divisional operations and revenue, including broadcasting, networks, distribution and advertising sales. Prior to joining Nexstar in August 2023, he Biard spent 23 years with FOX Corporation,  most recently as President of Operations and Distribution. In that role, Biard was charged with overseeing FOX’s studio operations and corporate real estate and served as a member of the senior team responsible for sports rights strategy and acquisitions.

Additionally, he led multi-platform program and network distribution, including strategy, affiliate marketing and affiliate-related business affairs and operations for all of FOX’s media brands. During his tenure at FOX, he also served on the boards of the Big Ten Network, the USFL and several regional sports networks.

From November 2013 to October 2018, Mr. Biard served as President of Distribution for Fox Networks Group, overseeing distribution for Fox Broadcasting Company, FX, FOX News, FOX Sports and National Geographic. Mr. Biard has extensive experience in media and network distribution, making him an important advocate for NAB as the organization addresses a variety of critical issues currently impacting broadcasters.
