It’s a fast-growing cable television news network and owned by the parent of WGN-AM in Chicago.

Now, NewsNation is getting an audio roll-out every U.S. radio station can consider for their own listening audience.

Introducing the NewsNation Audio Network, providing “ready to air audio clips” for participating radio stations and audio platforms nationwide.

Nexstar, which announced the launch of The NewsNation Audio Network on Monday, is offering an ongoing daily service of audio clips featuring coverage from its reporters and breaking news stories on a national and international level.

The launch comes after WGN Radio two years ago replaced ABC Radio Network content with that of NewsNation. A Company source tells RBR+TVBR the Audio Network is NewsNation’s first step into creating a bigger audio delivery service and is also designed to expand the network’s brand awareness.

Radio newsrooms can sign up for access at NewsNationAudio.com. Audio can be downloaded at NewsNationAudio.com or can be delivered directly to newsroom systems including NewsBoss.

In addition to NewsNation, Nexstar owns The Hill, a key Capitol Hill-focused news organization; and the largest collection of broadcast TV stations in the U.S. It is also the majority interest-holder in The CW Network.

Sean Compton, President of Nexstar Networks, tells RBR+TVBR, “A lot of radio stations have reached out, they’ve asked to use our product. This is a great way for us to offer more product to the radio industry while continuing to build our awareness.”
