GAINESVILLE, FLA. — In this part of the Sunshine State, it is all about the Florida Gators and the University of Florida. For Gray Television, serving local viewers both here and to the south in Ocala became a company goal in February 2017, when it acquired WCJB-TV in Gainesville as part of its $85 million acquisition of Diversified Communications.
Then, as 2021 came to a close, Gray executed an agreement to purchase five Construction Permits from the original CEO of DTV America — John Kyle III and his King Forward Inc.
Now, it is agreeing to sell one of those CPs, and a low-power TV property, to the operator of the NewsNet broadcast TV operation.
