Nautel’s “Transmission Talk Tuesday” sessions resume for 2025 with a new session entitled “Back to the Basics” on January 21 at Noon Eastern.

Host Jeff Welton will speak with Burley Stapley, Corporate Chief Engineer at Blanchard River Broadcasting for the session.

The two will discuss soldering skills as well as “must-haves” and other newly-important essentials for the toolkit.

Welton commented, “As with all skills, the less we use them, the rustier we get, so this should be a fun discussion on how to get the job done. We invite our attendees to bring their lists of things to consider with basic engineering skills and tools.”

On February 11, the Transmission Talk Tuesday session will cover “Optimizing Audio.” Jeff and guest Adam Robinson from DJB Radio will talk about things that should be considered
when looking at the path from microphone to transmitter.

“We were originally going to talk about automation systems, but decided we needed to expand this discussion,” said Welton. “We plan to dive deep into stability, performances and best practices.”

As with prior Transmission Talk Tuesday sessions, attendees are encouraged to actively
participate. Welton commented, “There are a lot of highly skilled people in this industry, and everyone has something good to contribute to our discussions.”
