An agreement has been reached that will see LG Electronics add a plethora of content from NBCUniversal across its free ad-supported streaming television platform, with both Spanish-language and English-language audiences poised to gain access to series and themed channels.
“Following our recent deal with LG for the hit series ‘Suits,’ we are thrilled to expand upon our relationship with them through the launch of these FAST channels,” said Bruce Casino, EVP of Sales & Distribution for the U.S. within NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution.
Matt Farina, SVP of NBCUniversal Platform Distribution and Partnerships, added, “LG is a great addition to NBCUniversal’s leadership presence in the FAST ecosystem, driving value for our distribution partners, our advertisers and us, as we reach target audiences at even greater scale.”
It’s an expanded partnership for LG and NBCUniversal, and it makes available today NBC News NOW, TODAY All Day, Dateline 24/7, and SNL Vault FAST channels, along with access to classic series including “Little House on the Prairie,” “Murder, She Wrote” and “Saved by the Bell.”
Furthermore, library films from Universal Pictures and genre-based action, crime and monster movies will be coming soon to LG television owners. These upcoming launches also include past seasons of such series as “Million Dollar Listing,” “The Real Housewives” and “Top Chef.”
Spanish-language news and entertainment from Telemundo; local news; true-crime titles; and sports programming will also join the LG Channels lineup.
LG TV users with Pay-TV subscriptions will be able to gain access to MVPD-distributed channels such as Bravo.
