The Library of American Broadcasting Foundation (LABF) has confirmed that NBC’s centennial milestone will be honored among this year’s distinguished Giants of Broadcasting & Electronic Arts. LABF’s annual tribute recognizing “trailblazers and historic contributions” to the broadcasting industry will take place on November 14.
Once again, the venue is at Gotham Hall.
“NBC has defined the U.S. television landscape for generations of viewers, becoming a trusted media source for fans to build lasting connections with cultural moments across Entertainment, Sports & News,” the LABF said. “NBC 100 will honor the rich legacy of iconic storytelling, culture defining entertainment and unforgettable moments that have established NBCUniversal as an unparalleled destination for fans.”
Accepting the award on behalf of the network will be Meet the Press moderator Kristen Welker.
The 2025 Giants of Broadcasting Honorees include:
- David Muir, Anchor and Managing Editor, ABC World News Tonight with David Muir and Co-Anchor of ABC’s 20/20
- Lynn Beall, Retired EVP/Chief Operating Officer of Media Operations, TEGNA
- Rick Dees, former longtime Los Angeles and Memphis radio star and “Weekly Top 40” host
- John Feore Jr., Communications Attorney and advisor
- Dick Ferguson, Retired Executive Vice President, Cox Radio Group
- Gary Sandy, longtime actor best-known for his role as “Andy Travis” on CBS prime-time sitcom “WKRP in Cincinnati” some 45 years ago
- Lesley Visser, a Hall of Fame sportscaster and the first woman inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame
Additionally, CBS News White House Correspondent and former RTDNA Chairman Steven Portnoy will receive the 2025 LABF Excellence in Broadcast Preservation Award in recognition of his tireless efforts to safeguard and celebrate the history of broadcast journalism.
