NATPE Global Preps For January Return With New Hires

TORONTO — In November 2022, discussions were had across the broadcast television industry about the demise of NATPE, which had declared bankruptcy in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic-fueled demise of its annual conference at the Fontainebleau Resort in Miami Beach and ill-fated attempt to relocate the affair to the Baha Mar Resort in Nassau, Bahamas.

But, as 2023 began, Brunico Communications, the company that stages such events as the Banff World Media Festival and is the publisher of four screen and production-focused titles, received judiciary approval of its previously announced purchase of the assets of NATPE. By May, Brunico confirmed that a reborn NATPE Global conference will be held in Miami from January 16-18, 2024 — in line with the previous conference conducted under its former management, but at the InterContinental Hotel in downtown Miami as the Fontainebleau declined to offer force majure credits and refunds to NATPE’s former management when it cancelled events due to the pandemic.

Now, NATPE Global is confirming “a slew of appointments rounding out the team” ahead of its return to South Florida.
