The 2026 NAB Show formally opens on April 20, following a day of activity across the Las Vegas Convention Center and industry gatherings along the Las Vegas Strip. As part of the Opening Session that Monday morning, a keynote conversation with an Emmy Award winner will be had along with a salute to one of American television’s most successful reality series.
As “Survivor” marks its 50th season on CBS, it will be honored with the NAB’s Spirit of Broadcasting Award during the NAB Show’s opening session, at 10am Pacific. This sees “Survivor” host and Executive Producer Jeff Probst join in conversation with NAB President/CEO Curtis LeGeyt via satellite from Fiji, where production is already underway on the show’s 51st season.
“Survivor” airs Wednesdays at 8pm Eastern/Pacific on CBS and on Paramount+. Past show participant Cirie Fields will accept the award on behalf of the show.
The NAB Spirit of Broadcasting Award is presented “periodically” to individuals or organizations that have made a lasting and meaningful impact on the broadcasting industry.
The session will also see Jesse Collins (pictured, top left) address the audience. He’s known for his roles as an executive producer of the annual Grammy Awards and as an executive producer of the Super Bowl Halftime Shows since 2021.
He’ll take the stage after another featured keynote conversation, with Carolyn Giardina, described by the NAB as “a leading journalist covering entertainment technology and filmmaking craft.”
The opening session will also celebrate America’s 250th birthday with “reminders of the powerful role storytelling plays in capturing who we are as a nation, along with the industry’s role in the tools and platforms to expand those possibilities.”
