The people who keep broadcasting on the air, and the ones pushing its technology into the future, will once again get their chance to shine in fabulous Las Vegas as the National Association of Broadcasters has opened nominations for the 2027 NAB Technology Awards.
The Digital Leadership Award honors an individual at a broadcast station, group, or network who has shown exceptional leadership in driving a broadcast business’s digital success through the adoption and application of new and emerging technologies. The Engineering Achievement Awards are presented annually in both radio and television categories to individuals whose accomplishments have made a lasting contribution to the broadcast industry.
The Technology Innovation Award recognizes an organization for groundbreaking research and development in communications technology. Eligible technologies must demonstrate significant technical merit, be showcased at NAB Show, and remain pre-commercial at the time of consideration.
Recipients will be honored during NAB Show 2027, running April 4-7 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Bert Goldman of Goldman Engineering Management and Harvey Arnold of Sinclair Broadcast Group were the 2026 radio and television winners.
Nominations for the Digital Leadership Award and the Engineering Achievement Awards are due January 19, 2027. The Technology Innovation Award deadline is March 1, 2027. Nomination forms and award criteria are available on NAB’s website.
NAB Chief Innovation Officer and Senior Vice President of Emerging Technology John Clark said, “Innovation in broadcasting is driven by people who see what’s possible and turn ideas into solutions. With the NAB Technology Awards, we recognize the engineers, digital leaders and innovators whose work advances our industry and helps shape what comes next.”
