NAB Grows Its Communications Team To Three Women

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Director of Communications and Social Media and Communications Coordinator at the NAB now have a VP of Communications as part of their team, and she’s inbound from Alexandria, Va.-based bipartisan reputation management PR firm Purple Strategies.


Taking the post is Carrie Healey. She reports to Chief of Staff of Executive VP of Public Affairs Michelle Lehman and will serve as the NAB’s primary spokesperson and media relations strategist.

Healey will leads a press team that includes Grace Whaley, who directors communications and the online digital and interactive media accounts for the NAB; and recent Wake Forest University graduate Judianne Meredith, who serves as the team’s coordinator.

“Carrie brings a wealth of expertise in strategic communications and public affairs, along with a deep understanding of the policymaking process that will strengthen our advocacy on behalf of local broadcasters,” Lehman said. “We are thrilled to welcome her to the NAB team.”

At Purple Strategies, Healey helped to develop communications strategies for advocacy and public affairs campaigns on behalf of clients across a range of issues. Prior to that, she was Senior Director of External Communications and Media Relations at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. She previously led communications for Rep. Donald Norcross (D-N.J.) and served as National Press Secretary and Deputy Communications Director for former Maryland Democratic House Member John Delaney’s unsuccessful 2020 presidential campaign.

Before that, Healey has media industry experience that includes roles as a Programming Manager for AOL Finance; Associate Editor of theGrio.com (from September 2014-January 2016); and as an Associate Producer & Sports Editor at NBCUniversal from January 2013-August 2014.
