WASHINGTON, D.C. — After several years of discussions and hearings — and growing concern from radio broadcasters about a further pinch on revenue — the House Judiciary Committee this morning (4/11) unanimously approved a package of music licensing reforms.
Leading the efforts on H.R. 5447, the new “Music Modernization Act,” are Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.), Ranking Member Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.), and Reps. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), Hank Johnson (D-Ga.), Doug Collins (R-Ga.), Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.), Lamar Smith (R-Texas), and Ted Deutch (D-Fla.).
