An AM/FM combo serving Warrensburg, Mo., along with an FM translator, are poised to trade hands, with Benne Broadcasting of Warrensburg LLC the buyer — pending regulatory approval.
KOKO-AM in Warrensburg, KWKJ-FM in Windsor and K221GY in Warrensburg are being transferred to Benne from D&H Media LLC in a transaction valued at $641,214.54.
A payment of $138,668.64 has already been made by D&H.
Terms call for D&H to refrain from changing the stations’ respective programming without prior approval from Benne. Additionally, D&H must get permission from the buyer should it incur new capital expenditure liabilities in excess of $50,000 or hire additional personnel at a cost in excess of $25,000 per year.
Operating as “Warrensburg Radio,” KOKO-AM and its FM translator air a Good Time Oldies format while KWKJ is a Country station. Warrensburg is to the southeast of the Kansas City metropolitan area via U.S. Highway 50.
Serving as the buyer’s legal counsel is Aaron Shainis of Shainis & Peltzman.
