Retailers Drive The Spot Plays Ahead of Sleigh Bells

The latest Media Monitors Spot Ten TV and Spot Ten Cable reports have been released by the iHeartMedia-owned ad tracking service, and for the week ending November 24, two big brick-and-mortar retailers each seeking to grow their online sales were the spot play leaders at broadcast TV.


As shown below, those two retailers are Walmart, and Macy’s, with each seeing well more spots than Target, which reported a weak third-quarter results while also providing investors a softer Q4 2024 report than anticipated.

While holiday shopping-oriented spots are ramping up, so are the spots for cold and flu remedies, with Vicks and Mucinex each seen in the Spot Ten TV report.

The Spot Ten Cable report puts Amazon.com in the top spot, while Mucinex is No. 2.

Also of note is the increase in spot activity at cable from Lowe’s.
