What has been known as the Mildred Carter Mentorship has been renamed by the Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio, Inc. (MIW) non-profit group dedicated to advancing female leadership in radio broadcasting.
It is now honoring the former Publisher of Radio & Records who also held key roles at Interep and, earlier in her career, within RKO Radio before taking the helm of the Radio Advertising Bureau.
The Erica Farber Mentorship in Management program is now being offered by the MIW group. The program is designed specifically to empower and elevate women in senior leadership across all facets of the radio industry—including sales, marketing, programming, and digital. Career growth and professional development are the key rewards from the mentorship.
Applications for the 2024-2025 mentorship program are now open. Candidates in the radio broadcasting industry are invited to apply by Friday, November 22. For full mentee criteria and application instructions, please visit the MIW website. Selected finalists will be contacted for a virtual interview on Monday, December 9, 2024.
MIW Board President Ruth Presslaff commented, “The Erica Farber Mentorship in Management program is a recognition of the decades of leadership, passion and vision that Erica has brought to the industry as a whole and to so many of us, as a valued mentor and friend. Her shining example is the measure we want to set for the next generation of women.”
Farber commented, “It’s an honor to be recognized in this way, especially as mentoring is so near and dear to my heart. Throughout my career, I’ve seen firsthand the incredible potential that women bring to every area of radio, from creative to corporate leadership. I’m thrilled that this mentorship program will provide the next generation of women with resources, insights, and encouragement to lead with confidence and vision, helping them make a lasting impact in our industry.”
