If you can believe it, we are nearly halfway done with the decade. And, that means it is almost time to give gifts for Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa or just for the fun of it.
One big national retailer recognizes this, and is now among the Top 10 advertisers by spot play count in the latest Spot Ten Cable report.
We’re talking about Macy’s, which is gearing up for Thursday’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and was putting the finishing touches on its flagship Herald Square holiday storefront displays as of November 17.
For the week ending November 23, Macy’s was No. 6 among cable TV brands, with Amazon.com and The Home Depot remaining the lone brands to commit to more than 60,000 spots for the week.
Other notable activity includes Sleep Number and Mucinex.

How does the Spot Ten TV report compare? Here, Macy’s is No. 9 and just above retail rival Target as Walmart is No. 3 based on spot play.
The No. 1? It is a pharmaceutical brand, Tremfya, which has pushed ahead of accident attorney specialist Morgan & Morgan.
