It is an Audacy-owned spoken word FM serving the Bay Area for nearly 15 years that in its past has been a Top 40 station under Bonneville; a Westinghouse-owned News/Talk property; and a Classical presentation under Buckley ownership.
To help boost its audience and signal penetration to the south, this Class B facility licensed to San Francisco and using a San Bruno tower has signed a deal with GeoBroadcast Solutions.
As such, KGMZ-FM “95.7 The Game” is now able to reach San Jose, Santa Clara, Milpitas and Campbell, Calif., more clearly through the use of MaxxCasting technology.
How? Two new synchronized booster nodes, strategically located in San Jose and the surrounding South Bay, integrate with KGMZ’s existing Diablo booster in the East Bay community of Walnut Creek, Calif., to create seamless coverage between San Francisco and San Jose, while exposing “The Game” to more than 400,000 additional potential users.
Audacy also asserts that KGMZ’s improved signal helps ensure more accurate audience measurement, giving The Game credit where listeners are actually tuning in.
KGMZ’s lineup includes coverage of the NBA’s Golden State Warriors.
“Sports listeners expect reliability, especially during live games,” said John Kennedy, Audacy’s Sr. VP of Technical Operations. “The MaxxCasting deployment strengthens our footprint in the South Bay, giving KGMZ a clear competitive edge over other sports outlets in the area.”
