It is formally known as Marquee Broadcasting West, and it is led by COO Gene Steinberg on a day-to-day basis. Owned by Brian Lane and CEO Patricia Lane, this bicoastal radio and TV station owner has just agreed to purchase the radio properties of Bicoastal Media in Southern Oregon.

When the deal closes, Marquee Broadcasting will become the owner of the following stations:

  • KBXG-FM in Grants Pass, Ore.
  • KMED-FM in Eagle Point, Ore.
  • KLDZ-FM in Medford, Ore.
  • KIFS-FM in Ashland, Ore.
  • KRWQ-FM in Gold Hill, Ore.

Marquee Broadcasting West will take over programming and administration of the station via a Time Brokerage Agreement as the parties await regulatory approval on the deal, which was in the process of being filed on Monday afternoon.

Details including the purchase price are forthcoming.

“We are excited to welcome these stations and their employees into the Marquee Broadcasting West family,” said Patricia Lane.

The radio properties will be added to TV stations offering Medford-Ashland DMA viewers programming from FOX, MeTV, Telemundo and MyNetworkTV.

Steinberg commented. “Two words describe this agreement ‘Better Together’ adding the power of the Bicoastal radio stations to our television properties makes us the only triple play media company in the Rogue Valley combining television, radio and digital opportunities in the market.”

Bicoastal Media COO Mike Wilson added, “We’re grateful to the Rogue Valley community for their support of Bicoastal Media and our people for the past 17 years. It’s exciting to consider the new opportunities that this acquisition will create for these radio and television properties. Marquee is committed to the local community and their employees and that gives us comfort in exiting the market.”

The deal is expected to close in the next few months.
