He has been at the helm of Country Aircheck, an online trade publication focused on Country radio and music, since his departure from the former Radio & Records in 2006. He’s also widely known as the host of nationally syndicated Country radio programs since 1984.


Now, Lon Helton has been chosen to serve as Master of Ceremonies for the 2024 Radio Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

Helton is a 2022 RHOF inductee and a 2006 Country Radio Hall of Fame inductee, and he’ll preside over an event scheduled for September 19 at the Omni Nashville Hotel where eight new inductees will be feted.

The Museum of Broadcast Communications stages the annual event, founded by the Emerson Radio Corporation in 1988. The Museum of Broadcast Communications took over operations of the Hall in 1991.
