Local Now Platform Adds Trio of NBC FAST Channels

The free-streaming service featuring local news and entertainment owned by Byron Allen’s Allen Media Group has launched three NBC News FAST channels.

As of today, the trio of information-focused offerings can be found as free offerings.

Now available to Local Now users are “FAST” channels NBC News NOW, TODAY All Day, and Dateline 24/7.

Free ad-supported streaming TV, or “FAST,” is surging in use and is largely seen as a threat to cable television networks, and additive to broadcast television. With built-in apps from Samsung and LG along with newly announced TV sets from “stick” manufacturer Roku, Local Now’s presence has equally expanded at a rapid pace since early 2021.

What can Local Now viewers expect to see? NBC News NOW, the NBC News 24/7 streaming news network, features the latest national and international breaking news and deep-dive reporting. The TODAY All Day channel offers TODAY Show favorites, celebrity interviews, show exclusives, food, recipes and more. The Dateline 24/7 channel offers viewers classic episodes, featuring compelling true-crime mysteries, powerful documentaries and in-depth investigations.

“Adding these three excellent NBC News FAST channels is another milestone achievement for Allen Media Group as we continue expanding the Local Now channel content,” said Byron Allen. “NBC is an outstanding brand in both news and entertainment, so this collaboration is an obvious choice for Allen Media Group to give our viewers the ability to stream this amazing content for free, anytime on Local Now.”
