The Library of American Broadcasting Foundation (LABF) has turned to a retired media executive who most recently served as Sr. VP/Regional Market Manager for Beasley Media Group’s New Jersey stations to serve as its Director of Philanthropy and Strategic Partnerships.
In this newly created role, Daniel Finn will lead LABF’s fundraising initiatives and cultivate strategic relationships with donors, corporate partners, and industry leaders to further advance the Foundation’s mission of preserving, honoring, and celebrating the history of American broadcasting.
Finn brings decades of leadership experience in the media industry and stepped away from Beasley at the end of March 2025. Before taking the position at Beasley, in which he directed Monmouth-Ocean and the Middlesex-Union-Essex, N.J. stations owned and operated by the publicly traded company, Finn held senior leadership roles at Greater Media.
He said, “Broadcasting has given me so much, and this role allows me to pay it forward. I’m excited to work with partners who share our passion for preserving history and honoring the people who helped build this incredible industry. Together, we can truly make a difference.”
“Dan’s passion for broadcasting and his heart for service make him the perfect person to lead this important work,” said Deborah Parenti, Co-Chair of the LABF Board of Directors and President/Publisher of Radio Ink and Radio + Television Business Report. “He understands the power of this industry and the responsibility we have to preserve its legacy for future generations.”
Dave “Chachi” Denes, Co-Chair of LABF and President/Co-Founder of Benztown, added, “Dan is a natural connector. He builds relationships with authenticity and purpose, and that’s exactly what LABF needs as we continue to grow our impact. We are absolutely thrilled to welcome him into this role.”
The LABF’s Executive Director is Mary Collins, formerly associated with MFM and BCCA. She commented, “Dan’s experience, credibility, and passion for broadcasting make him an incredible addition to our leadership team. His ability to build strong relationships across the industry will be invaluable as we expand our philanthropic reach and strengthen our partnerships.”
Early in his career, Finn was in New York at “Beautiful Music” stations WPAT-AM & FM (licensed to Paterson, N.J.), and at WYNY-FM. He later joined New Jersey Broadcasting Inc. and rose to the position of President/Chief Operating Officer. Following Greater Media’s acquisition of New Jersey Broadcasting in 2001, Finn continued to lead operations for WDHA-FM, WMTR-AM, WWTR-AM, WMGQ-FM, WCTC-AM, WRAT-FM, and WJRZ-FM, rising to SVP/Regional GM for Greater Media in 2007.
Finn has held multiple leadership positions on the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Broadcasters Association (NJBA), including Treasurer and several terms as Chairman. He also served on the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Ad Club and New York Market Radio (NYMRAD). In 2014, Finn was named to the Radio Advertising Bureau’s (RAB) Sales Advisory Committee (SAC) and was a founding member of The City University of New York’s CSI School of Business’ Dean’s External Executive Board.
