It’s a Minnesota community where the temperature as of 9:30am this morning was -12 F.  This town of less than 3,500 residents on the banks of the Chippewa River is home to a group of radio stations operating as Benson Radio.

And, these stations are being sold, according to an asset purchase agreement submitted for the FCC’s regulatory nod.

Headwaters Media LLC, the parent of Benson Radio, is agreeing to part ways with KKLN-FM in Atwater, Minn.; KBMO-AM & KSCR-FM in Benson, Minn.; and FM translator K278CX in Benson.

The buyer is Lakeland Media LLC, which is paying $375,000 for the stations.

A $75,000 escrow deposit has been wired to the seller by Lakeland Media.

There is no broker or finder associated with this transaction.

The buyer is led by Matt Ketelsen. He is a 25% shareholder in the LLC that serves as the license of KSUM-AM & KFMC-FM in Fairmont, Minn.
