Kelly Rises To iHeart/Chicago Sales VP Role

The three-year GSM for iHeartMedia’s Chicago radio stations has been rewarded with a promotion to VP/Sales for the company’s Windy City properties.


Joel Kelly will now have top oversight for the sales efforts of the company’s four FMs and Gospel WGCI-AM 1390, in addition to a variety of station-branded events held throughout the calendar year.

The iHeartMedia/Chicago FMs are comprised of WKSC-FM 103.5, WNUA-FM 95.5, WGCI-FM 107.5, and WLIT-FM 93.9 “MY FM.”

As VP/Sales, Kelly “will work closely with the sales team to create unique marketing opportunities that deliver a strong return on investment for clients reaching consumers through iHeartMedia’s unmatched assets, including on-air, online, social media, personalities and live events,” iHeart said.

He reports to Matt Scarano, Region President for iHeartMedia Chicago, and the cluster’s SVP/Sales, Jerry Schnacke.

Before joining iHeartMedia’s Chicago stations, Kelly served as a Sr. AE at CBS Radio/Chicago’s WUSN-FM “US 99.5,” and prior to that as LSM for WBBM-AM 780.

Before that, Kelly was an AE in San Diego for iHeart predecessor Clear Channel.
