Kelley Blue BookFor broadcasters serving a younger demographic, this report may be just the thing to boost your share of the local automotive advertising pie – a list from Kelley Blue Book picking ten attractive and affordable vehicles.

To qualify, a car must cost $18K or less, as evaluated by KBB’s Fair Purchase Price yardstick.

“This year’s list of budget-smart cool cars includes a repeat winner, an all-new Jeep and a few cars that have been completely redesigned for 2015. All of them are fun, stylish and versatile to varying degrees, and each and every one is enticingly affordable,” said Jack R. Nerad, executive editorial director and executive market analyst for Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com. “Still riding high on the strength of a well-received redesign for 2014, the 2015 Mazda3, which could be called the reigning king of the Coolest Cars Under $18,000, claims its spot at the top of our annual list for the second year in a row.”

Here’s the list:
1. Mazda3
2. Volkswagen Golf
3. Kia Soul
4. Jeep Renegade
5. Honda Civic Coupe
6. Ford Fiesta
7. Honda Fit
8. Chevrolet Sonic
9. Subaru Impreza
10. Fiat 5000

RBR+TVBR observation: We very well remember the first time we bought a brand new car. It was very much an event – but it did involve the expensive side of the showroom.

If a dealer wanted to make his case that his option was the primo option on this list, he would have had to select a younger-skewing broadcast station to reach me.

We suspect that is still the case, and it is a strong selling point for any broadcaster that can deliver the best candidates to purchase these vehicles.
