JVC Media Grows Again With Long Island ‘Breeze’

It’s a Class D AM serving central Long Island, N.Y., that enjoys some “revitalization” by way of a FM translator at 93.3 MHz. At present, it is “playing all your favorite music from the ’60s through today” and was WNYG-AM until May 2019.

Now, Michael Celenza is about to enjoy a formidable payday, as John Caracciolo is buying what is today “93.3 The Breeze,” and originating property WLIM-AM 1440.

Celenza acquired the former WNYG from Radio Cantico Nuevo in November 2020 for $20,000.

Now, this Classic Hits station with a softer take on 1970s and 1980s hits is heading to Caracciolo’s JVC Media for $500,000. A $25,000 deposit is being held by Jorgenson Broadcast Brokerage, as escrow agent. Mark Jorgenson served as the deal’s exclusive broker.

Officially, JVC is getting Medford-licensed WLIM and Port Jefferson, N.Y.-licensed W227CL.

Celenza’s Commercial Assets Inc. is the seller, and its legal counsel in this transaction is John C. Trent of Putbrese Hunsaker & Trent, P.C.

Caracciolo’s legal counsel is Frank Montero of Fletcher, Heald & Hildreth.

With the acquisition, the majority of the equity interest will be held by Northwood Ventures LLC and Northwood Capital Partners, in the eyes of the FCC. Caracciolo as an individual will hold 16.11% equity interest.

When the deal closes, WLIM and W227CL will join WJVC-FM “My Country 96.1,” rhythmic Top 40 WPTY “Party 105.3,” Classic Hits WPTY-FM HD2 and W251BY “Big 98.1,” Tropical WBON “La Fiesta 98.5,” and WRCN-FM 103.9 “LI News Radio” as properties serving the Nassau-Suffolk, N.Y. radio market.

JVC also owns properties in Florida.
