The Marketing Director for two TEGNA-owned stations serving the Jacksonville, Fla., market has joined Hearst Television to serve as Creative Services Director of its CBS affiliate in Iowa’s state capital.

As of February 10, Kristen Joyal will take the role previously held by Nathan White at KCCI-8, the Des Moines-Ames DMA property within the Hearst family.

She’s inbound from WTLV “NBC12” and WJXX “ABC25” on Florida’s First Coast, and before that was Creative Services Director for Nexstr’s WAVY-19 and WVBT “FOX 43” in Norfolk. Joyal has also held numerous writing, promotional and producing roles at stations including WPRI-TV in Providence; WBZ-4 in Boston; WTKR-TV in Norfolk; and WRDW-TV in Augusta, Ga.

“Kristen’s creativity and leadership skills should help us nurture the outstanding culture and cohesiveness of our creative services team, while also helping us further elevate and amplify the Iowa News Leader brand,” said Brian Sather, KCCI’s President/GM. “Kristen brings a wealth of experience and success across multiple markets at major stations; she also brings a love for community and for lifting up important causes which will be enormously helpful in our ongoing and outstanding service to our Central Iowa neighbors. We’re confident that she and the great KCCI creative services team will be positioned to build upon Nathan’s great work.”
