It’s The Truth: Don Davis Acquires N. Mex. AM, With Translator

0

In Truth or Consequences, N. Mex., there’s a 1kw Class C AM at 1400 kHz with an FM translator at 101.9 MHz that’s linked to the Sierra County Sentinel news organization. Until now, it’s been a property of GPK Media.

Pending FCC approval, that’s about to change, as Don Davis‘ group has struck a deal to buy the radio facilities.

KCHS-AM 1400 and the FM translator are being sold by GPK Media to Davis’ Vanguard Media.

A $50,000 purchase price was agreed upon, with a $10,000 deposit made by Davis in late September.

Vanguard is based in Albuquerque, and this transaction comes following the February 2020 acquisition by Davis of  KSFE-FM 96.7 in Grants, N. Mex. That transaction followed the April 2019 acquisition of KDLW-FM “Z106.3” in Los Lunas, N. Mex., a Top 40 station serving the Albuquerque market.
