DES MOINES — Five radio stations across the Hawkeye State are now home to the newly launched Iowa Sports Radio Network, an iHeartMedia offering originating from flagship Sports Talker KXNO-FM 106.3.

As iHeartMedia sees it, the new audio offering will bring a focus on Iowa sports to the entire state, with programming focused on coverage of collegiate athletics from the University of Iowa, Iowa State University, various high schools and other local sports topics.

Fox Sports Radio network programming will complement the local content.

Joining KXNO to form the network are KMNS-AM 620 in Sioux City; KOSY “Sports Radio 95.7” in Cedar Rapids; KXIC-AM 800 in Iowa City; WFXN-AM 1230 in Moline, Ill., serving the Quad Cities that include Bettendorf and Davenport.

“We are excited to launch this Iowa-centric network,” said Greg Chance, iHeartMedia Des Moines Sr. Vice President of Programming, and Erik Johnson, iHeartMedia Nebraska-Iowa Sr. Vice President of Programming in a joint statement. “It will give us the opportunity to use our best Iowa sports talent across the state to create a stronger connection between Iowa sports and listeners in these markets.”
