For 10 years until June 2014, Tim Sabean served as Sirius XM‘s SVP for the Howard Stern Channels, responsible for the development and growth of the satellite radio offerings.

As of today, Sabean is now an employee of Cumulus Media-owned Westwood One, and has taken the newly created role of SVP/Digital Content.

With the move, Sabean is responsible for talent discovery, content partnership development, and, WW1 says, “audience growth strategies to engage listenership and drive monetization, particularly in the fast-growing podcast space.”

Sabean remains based in New York, and reports to WW1 President Suzanne Grimes.

During his tenure at SiriusXM Radio, Sabean was also SVP/Comedy and Entertainment. Those duties ended in September 2013.

For the last 3 1/2 years, Sabean has served as the co-owner of Sovereign Communications, which made headlines in February 2017 for its acquisition of Class B Adult Standards WDBC-AM 680 in Escanaba, Mich., and 100kw Class C1 Country WYKX-FM 104.7, also licensed to Escanaba, for $866,000.

Sabean’s long career as a radio programmer includes roles as VP/Rock Programming of CBS Radio from 1991-2005.
