EUREKA, CALIF. — On November 10, an asset purchase agreement codified the transfer of a series of full-power and FM translator radio stations from an estate, trust and related broadcasting company to an individual who served as the day-to-day president of the stations under the now-deceased seller.
Here are the details of this Golden State transaction.
Independence Rock Media, led by Calvin Hunter, is purchasing the following properties from the estate of Thomas Huth:
• KIQS(AM), 1560 kHz, Willows, California, FCC Facility ID #34941
• K252FN(FX), 98.3 MHz, Willows, California, FCC Facility ID #156103
• KEGE(FM), 101.7 MHz, Hamilton City, California, FCC Facility ID #164155
Additionally, IRM is grabbing these stations from the Thomas Huth Revocable Living Trust:
• KTOR(FM), 99.7 MHz, Gerber, California, FCC Facility ID #82891
• KHEX(FM), 100.3 MHz, Concow, California, FCC Facility ID #31618
• KAJK(FM), 96.3 MHz, Susanville, California, FCC Facility ID #162465
• KGXX(FM), 100.7 MHz, Susanville, California, FCC Facility ID #183357
• KLZN(AM), 1490 kHz, Susanville, California, FCC Facility ID #160277
• K257EK(FX), 99.3 MHz, Susanville, California, FCC Facility ID #151434
• K284CL(FX), 104.7 MHz, Red Bluff, California, FCC Facility ID #156223
Lastly, Huth-Penney Broadcasting, of which Huth had attributable interest alongside Frederick Penney, is selling to IRM the following assets:
• KBLF(AM), 1490 kHz, Red Bluff, California, FCC Facility ID #48853
• KRAC(AM), 1370 kHz, Red Bluff, California, FCC Facility ID #54978
• K277CE(FX), 103.3 MHz, Fallon, Nevada, FCC Facility ID #144156
The transaction is valued at $400,000. A $100,00 deposit has been made.
Excluded in the transaction are KMYC-AM 1410 and FM Translator K282BS at 104.3 MHz in Marysville, Calif.
Hunter is familiar with the properties: He was President of Huth Broadcasting and also hosted the wake-up program at KBLF-AM 1490 in Red Bluff, Calif.
